Lip filler is proportion work. The most common mistake is treating volume as the goal. The right goal is balance — between upper and lower lip, between lips and lower face, and between the natural shape you've always had. Our clinicians prioritize that balance every time.

Is This Right for You?

For lips that look like
your lips — not someone else's.

Lip filler clients span ages 21 to 60. The youngest are correcting genetic asymmetry or wanting subtle definition. The middle group is restoring the fullness their twenties lips had. The oldest are softening lipstick lines and rehydrating a thinning vermillion border. They share one preference: nobody should be able to tell.

The "natural" result everyone asks for isn't a single product or technique — it's the discipline of building in small increments, respecting the shape your face was already designed around, and stopping before "more" becomes "too much." We do that every visit.

The Approach

How Lip Filler
Should Work.

Less is more. Smaller is wiser. The art is in restraint and product selection — not how much you can fit in one visit.

I.

Conservative Increments

We dose in 0.5-syringe steps for first-time clients. You can always add more in 2–4 weeks. You cannot easily undo too much.

II.

Product Match to Goal

Restylane Kysse for soft, kissable plump. Juvederm Volbella for hydration without volume. Juvederm Vollure or Restylane Refyne for more definition. Your clinician picks based on what you actually want.

III.

Cannula or Needle, by Zone

Cannulas (blunt-tipped) for the lip body — less bruising, smoother integration. Fine needles for precise border definition. Often both in the same visit.

What to Expect

Your Lip Filler
Visit, Step by Step.

Comfortable, deliberate, and intentionally restrained. Most first-time clients leave with a half-syringe and zero regret.

i
Step One

Goal Conversation

You bring photos, your clinician brings honest perspective. Together we define a goal that works with your face — not against it.

ii
Step Two

Numbing + Marking

Topical numbing for 15–20 minutes. Clinician marks injection points based on your existing shape and your stated goal.

iii
Step Three

Strategic Injection

Built-in lidocaine in the filler keeps things comfortable. Cannulas are used for the lip body to minimize bruising; fine needles for borders.

iv
Step Four

Settling + Two-Week Check

Initial swelling subsides in 3–5 days; full settling in 2–4 weeks. We schedule a check-in 2 weeks out — to refine, not to upsell.

Questions, Answered

Lip Filler FAQ.

Common questions from our consultations. Call (973) 567-7492 with anything we haven't covered.

How much filler do most first-time clients use?
A half-syringe. We almost always recommend starting smaller than you think. You can layer more in 2–4 weeks if you want; you can't easily reverse "too much" without dissolving and starting over.
Will my lips look obviously different the next day?
They'll look fuller and possibly slightly swollen for 2–3 days. Final natural result emerges at 2 weeks. Plan filler for 2+ weeks before any major event.
Will lip filler stretch out my lips permanently?
Modern HA fillers don't cause permanent stretching at typical doses. Filler integrates and gradually metabolizes. Concerns about "stretched out" lips usually involve very large repeated overfilling — which we don't do.
Does it hurt?
Lips are sensitive but our protocol is comfortable. Topical numbing for 15–20 minutes pre-treatment. Built-in lidocaine in the filler. Some clients request a dental block for full numbness.
Can I dissolve lip filler if I don't like it?
Yes — hyaluronidase dissolves HA filler in 24–48 hours. We'll dissolve our own work or another provider's if needed. This is the biggest safety advantage of HA over permanent products.
How long does lip filler actually last?
Average is 6–12 months, depending on the product and your metabolism. Faster metabolizers and very expressive mouths (singers, public speakers) often need touch-ups closer to 6 months. Touch-ups before full dissolution are more efficient than starting over.
What's the difference between Restylane Kysse, Juvederm Volbella, and other lip products?
Kysse is a stretchy, kissable gel optimized for lip movement. Volbella is light and hydrating — minimal volume change. Vollure offers more lift and definition. Your clinician picks based on what your goal actually is.
