Cleanse + Dry

Skin is double-cleansed and thoroughly dried. The blade requires a perfectly clean, dry surface to glide effectively.

Section + Plane

The face is divided into zones. Clinician moves the sterile blade in short, gentle strokes — you may hear a soft "shhh" but feel little.

Custom Serum + Mask

Newly cleared skin is the perfect canvas. Serum or mask (hydrating, brightening, or calming) is applied for amplified absorption.

Hydrate + SPF

Moisturizer, eye cream, and mineral SPF — derma-planed skin is more sun-sensitive for 24 hours, so SPF is mandatory.

Will my hair grow back thicker or darker?
No. This is the most common myth about derma-planing. The vellus hair (peach fuzz) on your face has a natural shape and color that doesn't change when cut. It regrows in 3–4 weeks at the same texture.
Does it hurt?
No. The blade glides over the skin without pulling — most clients describe the sensation as a soft scratch or vibration, not pain.
How often should I get it?
Every 3–4 weeks works best, aligned with your skin's natural cell turnover cycle. Less often and the benefit fades; more often and you risk irritating the barrier.
Can I do this if I have acne?
Active inflammatory acne is a contraindication — we'd worsen it. Comedonal (clogged pore) acne or post-acne can benefit. We'll assess at consultation.
Is this the same as shaving?
Mechanically similar but with a different angle, a sterile clinical blade, and clinician training. It's also paired with skincare. The result is far more refined than a home shave.
Can I add this to a peel or facial?
Yes. Derma-Plane is excellent prep for a chemical peel — it removes dead cells so the acid penetrates more evenly. Many clients combine in a single visit.
