The laser doesn't pick the setting — the physician does. Every laser treatment at Siwa Oasis begins with an MD skin analysis and a written treatment plan. Wavelength, fluence, pulse duration, and cooling are calibrated for your Fitzpatrick skin type — which is why our results are consistent across every tone.

Laser Hair Removal

Goodbye razors.
Goodbye wax.
Goodbye ingrowns.

Our laser hair removal clients range from college students tired of shaving for track season to professionals in their 40s who've finally decided their legs don't need weekly maintenance. The unifying thread: they want to reclaim the 30+ minutes a week that hair removal has been silently stealing.

We use laser platforms with multiple wavelengths and cooling technology that make treatment safe and effective for every Fitzpatrick skin type — including deeper tones that older laser technology couldn't safely treat. Whether you're a dancer wanting clear underarms for performances, a man exhausted by daily beard shaping, or someone simply over ingrown bikini hair, laser hair removal ends the cycle permanently.

Most clients complete 6–8 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart. By session 3, you'll notice meaningful reduction. By session 6, most hair is gone — and what remains is fine and slow-growing.

Laser Skin Resurfacing & Correction

For skin that needs
more than exfoliation.

Our resurfacing clients are typically in their mid-30s through 60s — often the first photograph where the sun damage, the fine lines, the pigmentation finally arrive as a single observation rather than separate ones. For deeper correction, laser is the treatment that reaches past what peels and microneedling can touch.

We use fractional resurfacing for texture and fine lines, IPL photofacial for pigmentation and rosacea-prone redness, vascular-specific wavelengths for spider veins and telangiectasias, and Q-switched or pico platforms for stubborn sun spots and age spots.

A single MD consultation clarifies which laser — or combination — addresses your actual concern. And because every platform uses different parameters for different Fitzpatrick types, the outcome depends as much on the hands behind the device as on the device itself.

The Science

How Medical
Lasers Actually Work.

A laser is selective light. It finds a specific target in your skin — melanin, blood, or water — and delivers heat energy exactly there, sparing the surrounding tissue.

I.

Selective Photothermolysis

Each laser wavelength is preferentially absorbed by a specific chromophore. Targeting melanin destroys hair follicles or pigmented spots. Targeting hemoglobin collapses unwanted vessels. Targeting water vaporizes surface damage.

II.

Integrated Cooling

Modern platforms combine laser pulses with contact cooling or cryogen spray — so the target gets heated while the surrounding skin stays protected. This is what makes safe treatment of all skin tones possible.

III.

Progressive Response

Hair cycles, collagen rebuilding, and pigment fragmentation all require multiple sessions. The laser doesn't force change — it triggers a biological response that accumulates over 4–8 treatments.

Questions, Answered

Laser Treatment FAQ.

Common questions from our consultations. Have a question specific to your skin or goal? Call (973) 567-7492.

How much does laser hair removal cost in Saddle Brook, NJ?
Laser hair removal is priced per treatment area, with package pricing for the recommended 6–8 session series. Small areas (upper lip, underarms, bikini line) cost less per session than large areas (legs, back, full body). Oasis Circle members receive 15% off every session. Transparent pricing is discussed during your complimentary consultation.
Does laser hair removal work on all skin tones?
Yes. Our laser platforms include wavelengths safe and effective for Fitzpatrick skin types I–VI, including deeper skin tones where older laser technology posed risk of pigmentation changes. Your MD determines the appropriate device, wavelength, and fluence for your specific skin and hair characteristics during consultation.
How many laser hair removal sessions will I need?
Most clients require 6–8 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart for optimal, lasting results. Hair grows in cycles (anagen, catagen, telogen) and laser only effectively treats actively growing follicles. Multiple sessions ensure we target hairs across all growth phases. Annual touch-ups help maintain results long-term.
Does laser hair removal hurt?
Modern laser platforms include integrated cooling that dramatically reduces discomfort. Most clients describe the sensation as a warm snap or rubber-band feel — not true pain. Sensitive areas (bikini, upper lip) may feel more intense. Topical numbing is available on request. Treatment time is 10–45 minutes depending on the area.
What laser treatments do you offer besides hair removal?
Beyond hair removal, we offer laser skin resurfacing (texture, fine lines, sun damage), IPL photofacials (pigmentation, redness, rosacea-prone skin), vascular laser (spider veins on legs and face, telangiectasias), pigmentation-specific laser (sun spots, age spots, melasma), and skin tightening. Treatments are selected based on your concerns during MD consultation.
What's the difference between laser and IPL?
Laser uses a single precise wavelength — more targeted, generally more effective, and safer across all skin tones for certain concerns. IPL (intense pulsed light) uses a broad spectrum — gentler per session, great for general pigmentation and redness, but typically requires more sessions and isn't safe for darker skin tones. Your MD selects based on your skin and goal.
How long does it take to see laser hair removal results?
You'll see shedding of treated hairs over 1–3 weeks following each session. Hair regrowth becomes progressively slower, finer, and sparser. Meaningful hair reduction is typically visible by sessions 3–4; maximum reduction (often 80–90%) by sessions 6–8.
Can laser treat stretch marks or scars?
Fractional laser resurfacing can meaningfully improve the appearance of stretch marks (especially red/pink ones) and surgical or acne scars. Results vary by scar age and depth. We often combine laser with microneedling or peels for more complete remodeling. An MD evaluation determines the right approach.
What's the downtime after laser treatments?
Laser hair removal: minimal — mild redness for 24 hours. IPL photofacial: 2–5 days of darkened spots before they flake off. Fractional resurfacing: 3–7 days of redness, sandpaper texture, and peeling. Vein treatment: possible bruising for 1–2 weeks. Downtime varies significantly — we discuss during consultation so you can plan.
Is laser treatment safe during pregnancy?
We do not perform laser treatments during pregnancy or breastfeeding. While there's no evidence of fetal harm, hormonal changes can unpredictably affect pigmentation and hair growth, making treatment less predictable. We recommend waiting until after pregnancy and lactation.
